And we’re off – welcome to Day 1 of the Love Yourself Healthy Challenge!
Here is the Challenge information for today:
#1. Your daily challenge is to drink more water.
Unless you have a specific health condition that dictates how much fluid/water you should be drinking, try to aim for half your body weight in ounces. For example, if you weight 150 pounds, then drink 75 ounces.
That’s a LOT of water for many of us so push yourself to get it done today – and try to do it before dinner or you’ll be up all night, if you know what I mean… Watch today’s video (below) for two tips to help you with this task!
Now, do know that you can drink TOO MUCH water. There is a condition called water intoxication that is very dangerous and actually life-threatening! I don’t say this to scare you… I say this to let you know that more is NOT better in this case. Don’t go overboard here – stick to half your body weight in water as your goal UNLESS health conditions make this an inappropriate goal for you. In which case, set your goal based on your health, medications, and recommendations from your medical providers.
# 2. Your daily video and worksheet is focused on your history with dieting.
Many of us have a long and sordid affair with dieting. I realize you may not want to lose weight – you may be here to improve your health by improving your cholesterol or blood sugar, increasing your energy levels, becoming more consistent with exercise, learning to take down-time for yourself, getting more sleep, or even ending the constant battle that so many of us fight with ourselves when trying to make lifestyle changes.
Yes to all of that! But we start with dieting – which is following any type of meal plan for weight loss, bulking up, or improving health.
I’m betting that you have a history with food and diets of some kind and it’s worth exploring if you want to change your relationship with food and diets. Today’s worksheet will walk you through this exploration.
